and means surrounding the harm caused by crime.
This summit will reach far beyond this prison club.
It can better our entire region. I credit Toastmasters
with fostering the confidence needed to make
this possible. My own path will reach far beyond
this prison. The Governor of Oregon has recently
granted me clemency. This resulted in a reprieve
from my life sentence. I credit Toastmasters for
helping me face my fears, which has made me a
much better leader and communicator. Toastmasters
has taught me how to effectively articulate my life
story. A story I will have to share on December 20th,
2024, when I sit in front of the Oregon Board of
Parole.
I am just one example of many who have
similarly benefited from what our in-prison club
makes possible. Our club is full of leaders and
communicators who have looked beyond their
incarceration to realize something greater than Photo by Craig Adderley provided by Pexels
themselves. Toastmasters has helped make this
possible and continues to make this possible for us
each day.
