Baby Boomers : born 1946-1964: current age 78 - 60

Baby Boomers were born during the post-World War II economic boom. Unlike the
previous Traditionalist Generation television was becoming common in households as
they were growing up. LIke Traditionalists, they value hard work and dedication. Many
may have made their job the center of their lives. They may be competitive and it may
be important to them to keep up with the Joneses. Baby Boomers often have a sense
of loyalty and remain in one geographic area or with one employer for a long time.

How Baby Boomers may fit in Toastmasters - Like Traditionalists, Baby Boomers may
also remain faithful to a particular club for a long time. Boomers might join to learn
skills or network to help with their career. They understand that to meet club goals they
will need to roll up their sleeves and do some work. Because Baby Boomers are known
to be competitive, they may relish the opportunity to compete in speech contests or
officer elections. Perhaps in person and phone conversations are most natural for them
but many enjoy the full range of communication methods technology allows.
