Rise to the Challenge

We return to a series done a few years ago where
we introduce Division Directors to our readers.
We begin this year with Renee Taylor, DL3 -
Division A Director.
Why did you join Toastmasters?
It may sound odd, but for decades I wanted
to join Toastmasters. I just never seemed to
have a clear opportunity, that is until moving
to Bandon, Oregon in 2019. After only a few
months in our new home, I received a flyer
inserted with our utility bill about an open
house being held by the local Toastmasters
Club, Myrtlewood Hootowlers. After just one
Club visit I joined and finally, after decades,
became a Toastmaster!
What has been your greatest Aha! Moment
in your Toastmasters journey so far? Why?
I didn’t join Toastmasters for friendship,
but that’s what I found. The camaraderie
in our Club is very strong. When I joined
