lively and as the majority of our members came in as neophyte Toastmasters, they
continuously hone their skills, ensuring our meetings run with precision and a whole lot
of fun.
Each week I am inspired by the collective intelligence of this group, they bring brilliant,
entertaining, thought provoking and hilarious speeches to the table. There is always a
take away that adds both value and
meaning to my life. These members
take me on journeys to far away
places with rich, detailed stories of
their own life experiences that
amaze, humble, and challenge me. I
have grown both personally and
professionally and have found that
Wednesday’s at noon, has become one
of the most important and rewarding
meetings of my week.
Now, I must acknowledge a cast of truly
outstanding individuals who helped set a course for the success of Clackamas County
Toastmasters. I wish to thank all of our officers for this past year, Nancy Newton, Kendra
Duby, Nancy Wilson and Gari Johnson for their extremely supportive and gracious
commitment to making this a dynamic club. Next, I wish to thank Gary Schmidt, DTM,
PIP, Leanna Lindquist DTM, Lt. Governor Marketing and Scott Stevenson, DTM, Past
District 7 Governor, for your leadership and guidance as mentors, a shout-out to both
Drenda Howatt and Kevin Moss, ACB, for being such trail blazers in this newly formed
club and finally, to Marylhurst Toastmasters who have shown me what an outstanding
club is all about.
