a Heitz—Division A Member of the Month
Nena obtained her Competent Communicator and Competent
Leader awards after being in the club for only 6 months. She
organized and managed our Humorous Speech Contest at our club
in August. She is the Vice President of Education in our Club, and has
created a board to display our club progress and maintains excellent
records of what has been accomplished. She has developed and
maintained a weekly club newsletter. She is starting to provide
educational sessions from the Better Speakers Series for our club.
She is an amazing person and has done many wonderful things for
our club and I would like her to be recognized for her efforts.
Other honored nominees for November were:
Becky Holm—Wonderful Oregon Wordmasters—Reached out several times to deal with club
business, followed up with duties in progress to make sure they were accomplished. Attended
meetings at both Sutherlin & Roseburg clubs (6:30 am & 6:00 pm - AMAZING). Maintained a cheerful &
welcoming disposition.
Dave Johansen—Feathertongues—Dave is always very well organized for the biweekly Toastmaster
sessions at Seven Feathers. He has the materials needed to make the sessions successful, including a
detailed agenda and list of the participant roles for the day. Dave represented the Area well by not
only winning the Area contest for Table Topics but also competing well at the Division level. He is
always encouraging to our members and is a tireless worker despite a heavy workload. Dave is who
holds our group together and he's well organized. He tells funny stories and is a great listener. Dave is
