en Sempervivo—Division E Member of the Month
Karen is serving as our Vice-President of Education for Portland
Progressives. She has diligently ensured that meeting roles are
filled in advance so that each week the Toastmaster of the meeting
can have a successful meeting. With Karen's leadership the club
very quickly achieved 7 out of 10 Distinguished Club Goals, and is
well positioned to complete all 10 goals within the next couple
months.
Other honored nominees for November were:
Raynette Yoshida, Marylhurst Toastmasters—In addition to her infectious smile and unbounded
enthusiasm in her support of other members, Raynette is known for her party decorations. Twice in
October, Raynette decorated our meeting room with tablecloths and party favors. For a Halloween
themed meeting, she went with the theme "Swamp" and even provided alligator heads for each seat--
which doubled as table decorations and "masks/hats" for anyone without a costume. Raynette is a
real asset to our club.
Kathleen Sabella, Toastmasters for Speaking Professionals—Katie demonstrated what can be
achieved through hard work, courage, determination, and WILLINGNESS to be supported through
coaching and feedback! Katie went on to WIN the humorous speech contest at the November District
7 Fall Conference. From this experience of preparing for the contest, Katie has participated more in
meetings, been more supportive of others, and gained new confidence in her gifts and comic genius.
