Ultimately, the answers about how to make Toastmasters appeal to a younger audience lies with
our younger members. We need to be flexible with our standard operating procedure and open
to change. A different path may not be the one we prefer but it can have unexpected benefits. We
will never know until we let the new generation lead us there.
Unlike clubs such as Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, Toastmasters has an edge. We teach people skills they
can apply immediately to their careers. We offer a level of mental stimulation by being a place for
a meeting of minds. Toastmasters is poised to survive the “Great Resignation” of membership. We
must allow the new generation to step into their leadership abilities so we can have another 100
Toastmasters years. Plan on a 200-year anniversary in 2124!
