Just for Fun
FOUR CURIOUS QUADRANTS
By Lee Coyne ATMS
As we all know, every year has 12 months and four seasons. What is overlooked is that each
season contains a special day that will give us permission to ignore the general norm.
This is something that allows us to vent and validate atypical behavior. To overheat and then let
off steam.
The year consumes four distinct quadrants to celebrate. Thus, we proceed...
January 1 is New Year’s Day.
The customary gets involved imbibing alcohol.
Some may unwisely do it to excess.
They are gullible to gulp.
April 1 invites April Fools Day.
Fabrication is the footnote.
We could lie and defy truth.
Even try an April Fools duel.
Come July 4 we gravitate skyward.
Noise becomes that theme to the extreme.
Firecrackers, by cracky.
A new form of enlightenment!
As awesome autumn bows in we hide our true selves behind a mask.
It’s that proverbial pumpkin time.
Halloween takes center stage and pretend is the priority of notoriety.
These four quadrants thus come about at nearly three-month intervals to change course.
Is that somehow a surreal surprise?
