FIELD NOTES
ON FOUR CUTE QUADRANTS
Lee Coyne, ATMS
Every January launches a brand new year. That year has certain
hidden holiday corrections that lack no links on the surface.
This column says otherwise. It unveils the less obvious.
Let's divide our year into four quadrants of three months each.
The holidays we will examine are New Year's Day, April Fools Day,
Fourth of July, and the spookiest of all, Halloween.
Each has its own fallout.
New Year's ushers in episodes of noisemakers and drinking. Often
people ignore sense and drink to excess. Some crash and die.
April Fools invites fabrication. Lies are allowed by the drove.
We commit thankless pranks.
Independence Day brings out noisy firecrackers.
The skies are ablaze with Roman candles as
people and pets seek safety. Fear become a sideshow.
Halloween also is a conveyor of fear. Look at the symbols: ghost,
witch, skeleton, black kitties. All can be intimidating.
I submit that such special day departs from the norm. We get
implied approval to go over the top into excessive areas
and to blatantly blame the calendar.
We can change our stripes and throw away our scripts.
Test a glass of innovation! Drink up!!
That may be much safer.
