A new Toastmasters year is just around the corner. New officers
are being elected and appointed at every level. As we look forward,
gearing up for the challenges and anticipated successes of next year,
let’s not forget what’s happening now—today—at this very minute.

With a little over a month to go in this waning year, it’s time to
take a look back at our accomplishements and determine what we
need to do to end this year well. Are your members completing the

tasks needed to submit an award or level? If not, what can we as club
members do to help them finish the year strong? Consider giving them
space and time to do so. Completed goals at the club level support our
area, division, and district to complete theirs. It reminds me of the
stone tossed into the lake. There is the initial point of impact when

the stone enters the water, and the subsequent outward ripples affect EDITORIAL
the environment all the way to the shore. So it is when you complete
your goals—everyone benefits.

If your club is one of the 25 Distinguised or better listed on page
13, congratulations on your success. However, don’t settle for less than
President’s Distinguished. Continue pushing forward, helping your
club to earn 10 out of 10 goals.
I’m confident we can contribute to our district goal of 62

distinguished clubs by supporting our club members. I
plan to do my part. What about you?
