All Journeys End

When I was District Director, I had a wonderful, exciting vision of bringing

District 7 members together to learn from each other by sharing stories,
tips, and thoughts using a printed format. The outcome was the District's
e-magazine Voices! which launched August 2014. It has morphed over
the past eight years to become the outstanding publication it is today.

Toastmasters from around the globe contributed to it's success. Members have
spent time and effort crafting articles worth sharing. Behind the scenes, Leanna
Lindquist has been a stalwart proofreader and co-editor catching misspellings,
poor language structure, and too many spaces (my goodness who'd a thunk

spaces would be a problem!) in her efforts to help each contributor's articles
shine. While she did the scut work, I reveled in searching for graphics to fit each
article, became familiar with fonts and how they create reader interest, and
layout and design techniques to make the written word appealing to the eye.

For me, it has been a journey of love and learning.
But I have grown weary and each issue takes longer and longer to drop. With
the passing of my spouse last January, Voices! has become an endured chore
rather than a monthly delight. I admit I've lost my mojo for doing this work. To EDITORIAL

make a long story short, I am looking for someone to carry on the legacy I (and
so many others) have created. I am open to someone taking on the challenge
of learning layout and design. I will be their tutor and assistant for the coming
Toastmasters year. I also have a commitment from Leanna that she will continue

to be the eagle-eyed proofreader for the year.

is no interest in keeping the magazine alive, the June issue
will be the last.
