FIELD NOTES

TJ is living the purpose that brought her to

pharma. In her roles, she has had the chance
to support Field Medical Teams providing
education and strategic support tha ltimately
helps healthcare professionals and patients. She

has travelled globally to teach in China, India,
Italy, Canada, Latin America and other world
       destinations—experiences that have exceeded
even her most lofty childhood dreams. Like

most of her career choices, her pursuit of
leadership roles is rooted in her love of teaching, TJ celebrating her son Sean’s first day at Yale with
                                                                 the family
       training,and education. Education—the simple,
yet profound vision her mom instilled so many ask? Well, a better question for me is: What

decades ago—was indeed the key to freedom, is my JOY? You see, it is my JOY to support
power, and purpose. our US Oncology Field Medical Team by
She is also dedicated to uplifting other women fortifying their Healthcare Professional (HCP)
and minorities the way others once helped her Engagement Soft Skills, Compliance Training,

in her career—it’s her way of ‘paying it forward.’ Processes, and Technologies. If I can find a way
She has worked on initiatives to empower women to help my colleagues, I’m on it. That’s right
in pharma, and she has mentored young African folks; to teach is my passion! Through teaching
American students in Pharmacy. and learning from my colleagues, I find JOY!

And as a parent now herself, she has passed on That’s exactly why it is so amazing that I
her mother’s passion for education to her three was introduced to the Pfizer Toastmasters Club
boys. Her oldest is at Yale University, her twins via my Pfizer Onboarding Director, Bathsheba
are looking forward to touring colleges, and her Cohen who was Toastmasters VP of Education.

sister’s son is at Harvard University. I immediately enjoyed the spirit of comradery,
“What my mother said turned out to be true,” education, leadership development and FUN!
says TJ. “Education was the key—and it has set Not only did I become a frequent visitor but
us free.” I enthusiastically took on meeting roles and

Next is TJ’s update since joining Pfizer and became Pfizer Pfree Speech VP Education when
becoming a member of Pfizer Pfree Speech Bathsheba retired from Pfizer. As I finish my
Toastmasters Club. [editor.] term as VP Education in June 2022, I will begin
“What an absolute honor it is to be a team my new role as President of Pfizer Pfree Speech

member of the Pfizer Oncology Field Medical in July 2022. It’s been a wonderful journey, and
family! I joined Pfizer in October 2021 as through it all, my mom’s message still stands
Director, Oncology Field Medical Strategic strong: “Education is the Key, Education will
Operations. What is my “job” as some would set you free!”
